Scheduled for Spring 2013!<o:p></o:p></p>

may have noticed a lack of advertising for the Solar Fiesta this year.
That’s
because the NMSEA Board of Directors decided to move the Fiesta from
its usual Fall season to the Spring. <br>
Plans are being made to hold our next great
event sometime around Earth Day in 2013. Please continue to check back

The Energy Department will present a live webinar entitled <em>2011-2012
Hydrogen Student Design Contest Winners: On-Campus Tri-Generation Fuel
Cell
Systems</em> on Tuesday, September 4 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Eastern
Daylight
Time. This webinar will focus on the winning entries from the <st1:PlaceType
 w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType> of <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Maryland</st1:PlaceName>,
<st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Washington</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType
 w:st="on">State</st1:PlaceType>
<st1:PlaceType w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType>, and <st1:PlaceType
 w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType>
of <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">California</st1:PlaceName>, <st1:City
 w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Davis</st1:place></st1:City>. This
year, teams created design
concepts for a tri-generation system that produces electricity, heat,
and
hydrogen for their university campus. The first place winner, the <st1:place
 w:st="on"><st1:PlaceType w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType> of <st1:PlaceName
 w:st="on">Maryland</st1:PlaceName></st1:place>'s design, utilizes
organic and
municipal solid waste via gasification and anaerobic digestion
technology. <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Washington</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceType w:st="on">State</st1:PlaceType> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">University</st1:PlaceType></st1:place>
placed second and proposed a pyrolysis reactor for straw waste from
agriculture
in their community. The University of California, Davis won third place
for a
design that included a hydrogen power and heating system for a
residential
building complex next to their new solar village. During the webinar,
the theme
for the 2013 contest will be discussed as well.<br>
