/******March 24:**/***"***/***Waste Land***/***" ***/***Film***/**–/Los
Alamos, NM
/**/**6-7:30pm at Reel Deal Theater
Continue the fun of the Re-Art event by watching this beautiful film
about recycled art. Filmed over three years, Waste Land follows renowned
artist Vik Muniz as he journeys to the world's largest garbage dump, on
the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. There he photographs an eclectic band
of “catadores” undefined, self-designated pickers of recyclable
materials in order to “paint” them with garbage. The film offers
stirring evidence of the transformative power of art and the alchemy of
the human spirit.

$10 adults, $5 kids at the door.This is another interesting film in the
PEEC series. http://www.pajaritoeec.org/**/**/
