*March 6: "Climate Change & Forest Mortality" Discussion ***–/Los
Alamos, NM/**

7pmat UNM-LA in Media Room 203, building 2

Increasing atmospheric temperature is causing droughts to become more
severe and is driving an acceleration of forest mortality throughout the
earth. There remain far more questions than answers at this point,
however, nearly all evidence available to date suggests the mortality
acceleration is going to continue for the foreseeable future. Climate
scientist Nathan Mcdowell will review this evidence both for SW USA and
other locations globally, with data from the level of individual plants
to the earth. We can conclude with discussion of our confidence in
these predictions and potential solutions at the local and global
scales./"Climate change and forest mortality from SW USA to the globe."
Sponsored by the Sierra Club./
