Mark Sardella <http://www.marksardella.com/markbio/> will be teaching 
the fundamentals of how to make commercial buildings more energy 
efficient at the new American Solar Energy Institute 
<http://aseinstitute.org/> office in Albuquerque. We'll cover commercial 
energy audits and assessments, and then I'll show how to benchmark a 
building using Portfolio Manager 
the EPA's online rating tool used to qualify buildings for the Energy 
Star Commercial certification. We'll discuss the most common 
opportunities for savings, how to evaluate their financial return, and 
how to drive down a carbon footprint with on-site energy.

The three-hour class will run from 9a until noon this Friday, with an 
overflow class in the afternoon if the morning session fills up. The fee 
for the class, located at 504 Yale Boulevard SE in Albuquerque 
is $60.

** **APRIL 24-25: **Water and Energy Expo and Free Workshops - Santa Fe*

**The Santa Fe Water and Energy Expo, held the weekend of April 24--25, 
is a free program featuring more than 20 different workshops on 
conservation and sustainability, as well as exhibits from more than 30 
local businesses and non-profits. Noted author and rainwater harvesting 
expert Brad Lancaster headlines the Expo on Sunday, April 25, with a 
free lecture titled /Planting Water: What You Can Do Today!/ at 1 p.m. 
  You'll find Lancaster's lecture, exhibits and workshops at the Hilton 
Santa Fe Historic Plaza, 100 Sandoval St., Santa Fe.

(Level 200)*

* *The American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (ARCSA) offers 
its two-day accreditation course on April 24--25. This workshop, 
designed for individuals interested in pursuing a career in rainwater 
management, is open to industry professionals looking to attain the 
ARCSA Accredited Professional designation as well as community members 
who wish to learn more. The cost to attend is $295 or $445 for ARCSA 
members seeking accreditation.

**The Summit is a professional conference bringing together 
organizations, individuals, and agencies to explore and examine the link 
between water and energy from a local, state and national perspective.

harvesting, irrigation efficiency, rebate programs, and the city's green 
building codes.
