NMSEA is seeking exhibitors of sustainable technologies (wind, solar, alternative building, water harvesting/purification, organic farming, alternative fuels, etc) for the Solar Village. Click here for a description of previous exhibits.
Potential exhibitors must apply in advance with the email form below. Exhibitors must be accepted prior to formal registration. Please do not send registration fees to NMSEA until your participation has been confirmed. NMSEA reserves the right to accept or reject applications to exhibit.
The following describes the rules and format of the Village. Please read first, and then submit the online application form below. We will notify applicants asap as to whether an exhibit is accepted.
The Solar Village at the Taos Solar Music Festival is an ideal place to showcase renewable energy and sustainable technology to the general public. The festival has a great line up again this year, and we expect good attendance.
Exhibitor Fees: To cover the cost of the village, a $60 fee will be assessed for each exhibit, payable to NMSEA. $10 of this fee is for the Town of Taos Parks Department exhibitor permit. Note that the ticket discounts we offer to exhibitors largely offset this fee. This fee will be reimbursed only if the village coordinator (Karlis Viceps, phone: 575-770-0225) is advised prior to June 27 that you will not be attending.
Services Supplied: With the low exhibitor fee, we are not able to supply canopies, tables, or chairs for exhibitors - exhibitors must bring their own. We will be supplying parking arrangements, processing of discount tickets, security, advertising for the Solar Village, signs and other devices to get people to visit the Village, etc. Please inform us of any special needs you have, and we will try our best to fill them if we can.
Damage Deposit: There will also be a $50 damage deposit that will be reimbursed unless there it is needed to repair damage associated with your exhibit. Please submit a separate check for the damage deposit. All checks should be made out to the New Mexico Solar Energy Association.
Entrance Fees for concertgoers: There will be no fees for the village - The Solar Village is Free to the general public! Note, however, that this means the village is not inside the festival fence: The Village is located alongside and highly visible from where concert goers will enter, and there will be information posters scattered throughout the festival area and periodic announcements to encourage people to visit the village.
Location of the Village: The village will be located in Kit Carson Park, near route 64 (the main road in front of Kit Carson Park), to the left (north side) of the main (front) entrance to the park.
When to Arrive and Where to Show Up: If at all possible, please arrive no later than noon on June 27th, and come to the main (front entrance) to Kit Carson Park. Doors open at 1 pm, and the show begins at 3 pm. There will be several people there to assist you in finding your assigned spot.
Siting: NMSEA will determine the layout prior to June 27th. You will be informed of where to set up when you arrive. Plan on carrying all of your exhibit equipment and supplies onto the grass area of the Solar Village. We are within 100 ft of the paved curb. No vehicles are allowed on the grass.
Electricity: No generators please! Any electricity used must be supplied by solar panels and/or batteries.
Tickets for Exhibitors: Solar Village exhibitors will be eligible to buy two festival tickets per day at a 50% discount. Exhibitors purchase their discount tickets at the festival ticket gate each day.
Car Passes: Each exhibitor will be issued one and only one parking pass.
Insurance: All exhibitors must carry liability insurance for exhibiting at this type of event and proof of insurance is required.
Please fill out the following form to apply to be an exhibitor at the 2008 Solar Village. All fields except "Organization's website" are required.
Once you have been notified that your exhibit is accepted, you may then send in the two registration fee checks: $60 for the Village (includes $10 for Town of Taos Parks Department exhibitor permit) and a separate $50 damage deposit, both made out to the New Mexico Solar Energy Association. Please also include a copy of your proof of liability insurance.
