We supply a standard, portable, "sunoven" brand solar oven with each kit. If the weather is sunny, one can begin a session by putting a batch of cookies in, to be eaten by the students at the end of the session. This is a great ice-breaker, very educational, and really impresses folks. A good rule of thumb - never demo a solar oven without cooking something in it, because seeing (and tasting) is believing! Sugar cookies work very well - not too greasy, sweet, and they cook fast.
Accessories for the sunoven: Gloves and sunglasses are a must, a pan, spatula, and cookie dough!
Pictured above are students and teacher at the Santa Fe Indian School, at their School's 2003 "Seeds for Pueblo Sustenance Day", about to derive sustenance from their first solar cooked cookies.
