Join us at New Mexico's premier Renewable Energy and Environmental Educational Fair, with exhibits and workshops focusing on practical uses of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and many other sustainable living practices.
Highland High School 4700 Coal Ave SE, 87108 (map), will once again be the site of the Solar Fiesta. We appreciate the support of Principal Nikki Dennis, Assistant Principal Frank Maestas and Activities Director Pat Arguelles in this endeavor.
Exhibits will have the same basic layout as last year. Outdoors, the grassy area immediately inside and to the north of the Main Gate will hold the Kids Area (stop there first!), the Villager Solar Oven, solar car races, school science projects, and solar car workshops for a specific age range. The Outdoor Exhibit Area is in the parking lot in front (north) of the school with the Tower of Solar Power (the sound booth) at the southeast corner, in front of the school entrance.
The Indoor Exhibit Area is in the school Cafeteria. Enter the Cafeteria via the main hall by entering the front of the school. In addition to the exhibits, the Silent Auction and water will be found in this room.
Workshop rooms are in the East Wing of the main school building, in the library south of the cafeteria, and in the Performing Arts Center, south of the library in another building.
