Introduction to solar hot water, how solar hot water can be used effectively and what to look for in a good installation. A brief overview.

Founder of Valverde Energy, Larry Mapes has more than 20 years' experience with solar hot water systems design and construction. He recently began teaching solar and energy efficiency applications as an adjunct professor at UNM-Taos and has lobbied in the New Mexico State Legislature for renewable energy incentives. Larry is a member of the Radiant Panel Association, is a member the American Solar Energy Society, is President of the Taos Chapter of NMSEA and sits on the Board of Sustain Taos. He holds a seat on the Solar Thermal Task Force formed by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) to establish a national certification program for installers.
