Make Suntea!

Materials

  1. A sunny day

  2. A large jar with lid.

  3. A source of drinkable water.

  4. Some herb tea.

  5. Some cups.

Procedure

Explain that the sun heats the water up a little bit, which helps the tea seep out of the bags.

Explain that people make suntea because they believe that it tastes better than if you use really hot water.

Also explain that it takes longer than with really hot water, because the water doesn't get as hot.

Fill the jar with water.

Put several tea bags in the jar.

Close the lid, and place in the sunlight.

Wait a few hours. You may want to have the students feel the jar once in a while, to see if its warm.

Enjoy the tea!
